GLAMs consume significant energy to regulate pollutants such as VOCs, NOx, H₂S, and humidity levels. Traditional solutions often lack efficiency and sustainability. SIMIACCI addresses this challenge head-on by introducing innovative, climate-friendly technologies that protect artifacts while reducing energy consumption.

Kick-off in Lisbon

The project officially started on January 1, 2025, and celebrated its kick-off at the National Coach Museum in Lisbon on January 23–24. Hosted by IST ID, the project coordinator, this two-day event gathered 15 partners from across Europe to align on goals, share insights, and plan the roadmap for the next four years.

Our Vision

SIMIACCI aims to:

Develop advanced materials (Metal Organic Frameworks) to capture harmful pollutants.

Create predictive models and sensors for real-time contaminant monitoring and conservation recommendations.

Design modular systems that balance technical performance and environmental impact.

Introduce new business models combining technology and sustainability, backed by economic and social analysis.

Impact Across Europe

Over the project’s lifetime, 20 prototypes will be deployed in 7 GLAMs across Europe, including:

Det Kgl.
