L'ENSICAEN est un établissement public habilité à délivrer des diplômes d'ingénieur (équivalent d'un MSc) en génie physique, informatique, science des matériaux et chimie. L'ENSICAEN est également un centre de recherche, avec 700 chercheurs répartis dans 6 laboratoires d'excellence, partagés avec l'Université de Caen, le CNRS et le CEA.

LCS laboratory at ENSICAEN is a mixed research unit between universities and CNRS, with around 100 members (20 professors and researchers, 18 technical and support staff, plus students and post-docs) working on divided solids synthesis, characterisation, and application in catalysis and filtering. They have specific experience in zeolites and MOFs, notably in their use for pollutant removal. The main investigation techniques are based on spectroscopy, with specific development and application of in situ and operando infrared and Raman.
